We also had that brown waterline thing in our first batch of water. We were using Baqua Spa in our Optima at the time. We just used Baqua's surface cleaner and it scrubbed away, and over a couple of months, that line stopped forming.
We stopped using Baqua about 18 months ago, switched to Brilliance, and don't have the brown line problem.
