Hurricane Katrina Pic
« on: October 05, 2005, 08:08:39 am »
Hey Y'all,

I had gotten some pictures from a friend who has a friend who's family lost everything in Katrina.  I saw this particular one and wanted to share it.  The water level got so high that this is where their hot tub landed.

Again, I'm not sure which link from Image Shack to copy onto here...:-(  So I hope this works!!!!

It's a thermal pane Coleman, so it is lighter, thus thermal panes can fly.........

Possible titles.......................;

"Spa with a view"

"How far out of level is ok?"

"I gotta get me one of them cover lifters from Doc."

"You should see the swimming pool."

"The manual said I could put it on a wooden deck."

If you can't sell it on eBay, it may not even qualify as landfill.

There were gale force winds that blew buildings down yet the cover is still with the spa? ???

I had the same thought............ as well as the roof appears to be in very good condition, and the pallets are rather neatly lined up.

Any one wanna bet this is simply a picture of a spa being delivered to a difficult location and is being carried in over the roof?

It is "possible" it was in a sheltered location, the wind blew back only 1/2 the cover, and it's being held to the spa with a single tie-down strap.

My guess is that it was a cover you built, they left the front straps unlatched, the wind caught the cover and blew it over the house and it drug the spa with it by the other two straps!

My thought is that it was delivered by the delivery crew of my former employer.  The crew we came to know as Bevis & Butthead.  I'm thinking the crane straps broke causing the crane driver to drive away.  At that point Bevis said to Butthead  "Let's just put the cover up there too and maybe like noone will notice eh eh."

I've got a video a homeowner shot. It's of his spa delivery. Lets just say the crane reached out a wee bit too far........... One of these days I gotta get it converted to something playable on the net.
