If you use anything, use a spa gloss made for hot tub spas.

I would strongly suggest not applying wax to the shell.  It is a totally unnecessary step as the shell will look good for as long as you own it.  Just wipe it down from time to time and you'll be fine.

I guess he likes selling Fast Glos to folks.  It is not necessary to apply anything to the Quarite shell.  It will last and look good as long as you (a) never leave it uncovered with no water in it and (b) don't pour battery acid in it.
