The finished project - except landscaping

Well here is the finished project - total deck area is about 550 SqFt.  The decking material is called "Boardwalk" and the railings are powder coated aluminum.

r100rs

2x10 - 12 inches on center - 8 4x4 3 feet apart for the tub area -- everything else 2x10 - 16 on center

Notice the elcetrical coming up. (See below)

Notice the built in benches. (See above)

The folks that did the install were excellent.  So a little free advertising won't hurt.

The post lights are solar and they do a wonderful job.  I bought them at Menards.

The dogs are investigating what all this new stuff is. (See below)

Bill - You can ride the Beemer up here.  I can get some Bitburger Pils for you.

Stargazer - So far its holding and as for over time - for the money I paid it darn well better.  Also the lab is either a lab/sheperd mix or a lab/retriever mix. Sorry not for sale - the kids on the other hand.........

Leaky - Go to ImageShack - search the archives here about a year ago for instructions.

For the rest of you, I chose those rails mainly because if work was needed on the tub, I can remove the rails and the tech will have full access.  Beats moving the tub.  Also I haven't seen any other deck in our neighborhood or the surrounding ones with that kind of railing.

Wow - both are beautiful.

Thanks - my back is now sore just thinking about all of that work.

But they are nice, and my yard really does need something to spruce it up....
