New Chemical added, WOW so nice
« on: August 06, 2005, 11:21:01 pm »
I added a water softner.  It smells like fabric softner and it is a blue color.  It has totally changed the feel of my water.  It has made my water so fresh and soft.  I love it.  I will check the name and add it to the post tommorow.

It is awsome, made water cloudy a bit, now it is nice and clear.  The water feels so soft if there is such a way to describe water.

the product is called ultra spa, it is a water conditioner.  It is amazing.  Arctic has its label on it but I think someone told me that they just relable CAPO, Im not sure if that is right.

What a great product, I strongly recommed it to others.

no it does not turn the water blue.  Im not sure what is in it, Ill find out for you though.  It just dissolves into he water.  My dealer told me to add 4 capfuls for the first time, and then once a week add half a capful.

The bottle says it softens, clarifies, and helps chems react better.

How long have you been using it in your tub?

I've seen these products and have been curious, but I am concerned about long term use (several weeks).   I've heard that a pronlonged use, you can get premature cloudiness and have to dump and drain the tub more often? Does anyone have real life expereince with these?

I wouldn't be suprised.  I use to be heavily involved in the "sport" of Radio Controlled Auto racing and lots of people made money by repackaging things and finding a specific use for it and marketing it that way. I saw whole companies founded on that idea.

I know SpaGuard has a great product called Optimizer Plus and the result is very similar to what you are describing.

I believe each chemical company (or most anyway) have a similar product with a different name.

~Taken from the web~

Optimizer® Plus®
This product helps all BioGuard programs work more efficiently. It buffers the water and helps keep the water balanced. You have to work less to keep the water balanced as swimmers and rain affect it.
• Enhances the performance of all BioGuard®'s Pool Maintenance Programs.
• Suppresses algae growth, greatly reducing the likelihood of an algae bloom
• For use in all pool types
• Will not evaporate and is not destroyed by ultra-violet rays of the sun
• Easy-to-use granular product
• Buffers water balance to prevent pH bounce
• Noticeably softens the water so it feels gentle on your skin

I've used this for a couple of years and would never NOT use it. I love the smell and feel of water and I've personally never heard of having to drain the water sooner because of it reported by any customer over the years either.
