Jacuzzi Wet Test
« on: August 03, 2005, 08:40:47 pm »
Wow...I wet tested the Jacuzzi 385 and I must say it was GREAT!!  I got good therapy and didn't feel like I was being thrown out of the tub.  I loved the SD Cameo and this felt like the Cameo.  The lounger is a little long but I stayed in it pretty well.

The J385 is a little larger than the Cameo.  If we want the same size he suggested the J375.

I think the prices are a little high, but you Jacuzzi owners out there let me know.

The J385 (43 jets) is fully loaded with stereo, light, dual waterfalls, ozonator, setup, delivery, 3 pumps @ $8240

We can get a 2005 J375 (34 jets) in stock with same equipment for $7495 in a pearl gray w/matching cabinet or order whatever color we want for $7695.

Sundance can't match the Cameo @ $8240.  Best they can do is a 2004 Cameo model with no/stereo, no waterfall, no bells/whistles for $7810 and it's a floor model.

The Altamar @ $7900 no stereo, Marin $7400, Caprio $5900 or Palermo $6297.  All of these are much smaller tubs and I think vlady said the loungers were too short for her 6'1" husband.

So, give me some feedback of the Jacuzzi prices.

And why is that?  What's up with the negativity concerning Jacuzzi?  I don't get it?

I didn't get all the negativity either Cappy.  I was talking to Matt at Oasis about it and ironically he said there are actually many reps from other companies that pose as satisfied customers here and other sites.

As far as that goes, I really don't have the desire or time to do the work to figure out if the praise is true for all the models, rather I know I am extremely happy with my j335.  I also like the service I have gotten after the sale as well as the comp chemicals, etc.

The prices you are quoting seem a little high although the models you are mentioning are bigger than my j335.  My package was around 6200 with the lift, cover, ozonator, lights, waterfall, stereo and 2 remotes which I still can't get to work.

I see both you and johnnythunders on the site at the same time this am.  You know that has to make me wonder just what you said about "posing".

You're right I am agonizing over this decision.  It's a lot of money and I want to know I'm going to have a quality product that will last.

I think if Matt would sell me the 385 for $7800 I'd take it today.

Are you so sure of this that you'll back up this statement by making up the difference for cappykat out of your own pocket?

Spa prices tend to be all over the place, and just cause your area has prices like this doesn't mean everyone else does.

Hey guys....the price on the J375 is not the issue.  I've already gotten a price of $7500 on the 375 with lift/cover & steps, lights, waterfall, & stereo.

I guess it would be out of the question to get the 385 for $7800!!

So is it a done deal Cappy???  Are you part of the jacuzzi rebels?  Did you mention my name so I can get a kickback?  Party at your Orlando pad?

$ sounds about right. while shopping for our new tub after chritmas, i looked at the 365 and 385. was quoted $7495 for the 365, and $8395 for the 385.
i wound buying a caldera instead, personal preference.....
the jacuzzi seemed to be a good tub, but the one thing i would HIGHLY recommend, is to read and understand the warranty VERY CLEARLY! get it in writing about replacing broken jets. a good friend of mine bought a 355 approx 4 1/2 yrs ago (for $5200, good price).
the down side is that she has had to replace nearly every jet in the tub, due to the little ears breaking off, that lock the jet in. for the first couple years, all she did was take the jet in to the store, and they gave her a new one. THEN, the dealer changed hands, and the new guy charged her $18-24 for each one. after paying for 4 of them her husband went to the dealer and things got a bit ugly, so now she does not patronize the store at all. buys them on line.
i had heard that several years ago jacuzzi had a problem with jets coming out, BUT my understanding is that they already addressed that issue, so i am NOT bashing. i wet tested the 2 models above. i think they have a good product, but just in case,(and this applies to all tubs) make sure you understand what the warrantee covers, and for how long.....

Hummmm they didnot make the J-355 over 4 years ago.it was  introduced in early 2004 if i am right.
Only thing i am saying i don't see many Jacuzzi owners on here. And maybe you are right they all are enjoying their spas.
Jacuzzi is a very good brand and so are some of the others.but for the price you should get a Jacuzzi for
J-355 $6000
J-365 $6500
J-375 $7000-$7300
All with no Stereo but with cover Lifter, steps delivery and some Chems.........
I am sure if you live in Santa Monica the prices might be a tad higher because the rent is so high
But most other places you should get a pretty good deal......JohnnyT
