I was all set to tell him about the time my grandfather took apart a tiger tank and shipped it off to england, or the time they dug tunnels under  snowmen....  or the secret tunel that came up in a tree stump.  


I also had an uncle that got marooned on a desert island with 6 others...

He could build radios out of coconuts...he was a great man.

Never trust students majoring in German.

Years ago a friend toured Germany alone, this was right after the fall of the Berlin Wall.  He asked a friend to print up a card that said, "Please give me a glass of your finest local beer".   He should have doublechecked with someone else as the card reportedly said something to the effect, "I like man on man sex, can I get that here?"

The same student was hired to do translations on controls for my company's equipment. He supposedly did a good job, but on one indicator that was rarely used, he put, "If this lamp lights, RUN"

Yep - nothing like the autobahn.  Back when I was living over there, I use to drive at 180KMH - approx 108mph - constantly.  I believe the fastest I ever went was
130mph on my bike and 150mph in a Opel Senator.

One of the best things one can do overthere is go to the Nurburg Ring, by Koblenz, pay about 10 Euros a lap and you can drive the old race track.  One lap is approx
15 mi and I beleive over 150 curves with an elevation change of 1000 ft.

And you drive as fast as you want!!!!!

yeah, I love the high speeds and feeling like you are actually driving rather than coasting.  It was a fun change
