Before going out of town this weekend I turned the tub back to 81, the filter cycle back to 4 hours. Came home Sunday night, the tub was still at 102.

It's been around 105 here with the heat index.  I'm DYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  This peach is does not do well in heat!!!!!!!!!!!!!  But my tub is staying at 95 since using the tennis balls to lift the cover a bit... :-)  What a great idea!!!! :-)

I was visiting relatives in AR last week, everyday was over 105 with killer humidity.  I stopped by one of the pool/spa stores and asked how was business. No spas sold and no pools either. Owner said he thought it was just too hot to go shopping for anything.

Well gotta tell ya..... We live in Central Florida & wanted the water 85 degrees, (We know it's a hot tub, but this works for us) but the pump keeps the temps around 100 even with the heater off. So here is the extent we went to: got a aluminium radiator for a VW Jetta, Aux rad fan at 2500 CFM, piped pvc into the inside of the panel so it's all hidden, cut the output from the circ pump & went out to the rad, then back into the spa so everything works fine, put a 12V converter to power the fan & we have 86 degrees even if the outside temps are 98. Now thats excessive!

Rocky is your tub still under warrentee? and if it is doesn't that actually void the warrentee???

Yes it's 5 weeks old, no it should not affect the warranty as nothing with the spa hardware was modified other than cutting a hose which was marked for the ozonator installation. can be back to factory in 10 minutes other than inlet & outlet pipes coming into unit.

64 degrees in Colorado everything has cooled off since JA left.I could feel the heat from 30 miles away.LOL

They're in the process of building a new building where I work, they're pouring the footings now.  Last week, they measured an actual mercury (no heat index or anything) of 120 degrees four feet off of the ground.
And those workers have to wear protective gear.  I can't imagine how they stood it.

bet that 120 deg was in the sun. A few years back I had a house with a red brick patio that would get so hot you could not walk on it in bare feet. Put a digital thermometer on it and it read somewhere around 125 deg. The dog would go lay on it and just pant!

this is why I love living in the Pacific north west it hardly gets above 80 plus it rarely gets below 45 in the winter lots of rain but nice year around.

Yes ladies and gents it's hot in Wyoming also!!!! We had a bit of a cool down the last two days...Monday it rained and was 65 degrees, and tue it got up to 70 it was quite nice! But.....alas it did not last long...today we are headed for the 80's and I made hubby leave the cover off for a bit. Cool down will be in Nov-mar we get below zero fast then
