Cover lifters
« on: July 23, 2005, 09:54:37 am »
Just bought a HS Vanguard... I went back and forth between the Cover Cradle ($395) and the Covermate ($185).  First picked the Cover cradle (the one that bolts directly to the cover and has gas shocks ) but had a chance to try both side by side and ended up swithching to the cheaper covermate (just the bar that hangs the cover by the middle seam.  Any good or bad experiences with either of these??  (Shopping for the tub was like buying a car, so I just went with what the HS dealer offered.  I saw some cheaper ones on the web, but there seems to be way too many choices!)

You might want to look at the LIft-N-Glide. It's another HS exclusive lift, cheaper tha Cover Cradle, more solid than the Covermate(which are a fine lift)

I own a Vanguard and have the Cover Cradle. I rate it A++++

Very smooth one hand operation.

There is a reason its $395 and not $100

I recommend the cover cradle 100%

I have had the Cover Mate for my Landmark for several years without a problem.  It is a large cover but my wife can lift it very easily.  My was included with the deal though so I really didnt have a choice but I didnt realy need one.

I think mine is a cover cradle II - and that it was about $300.  It has only 1 shock instead of 2 - it's been great - easy to operate - and it's midway between the 2 you've looked at...
