So Where Do Old Tubs Go TO Die?
« on: July 12, 2005, 03:56:10 pm »
My wife asked me this the other night and I had to think about it.  Do most dealers help dispose of old tubs when a customer buys a new one (sort of like mattress delaers do) or am I gonna have to rent a chain saw? ;D

My dealer didn't want to touch it. :(

Mine's behind my shed. It's cabniet slowly being used for firewood.

Next month, I'm taking my sawz all to it and then it's off to the dump. ($50).

You might be joking, but I wouldn't use a chain saw.  ::)

I've seen some dealers accept trades, not sure how good of shape these trades have to be in, though.
A sawzall would probably make a good spa dis-assembler.

BobRex,

Remember how your wife always wanted a water feature in the yard?  ;)  I mean, just add some goldfish and sink the thing in the ground and you are good to go.  ::)

We have some of our "trade-ins" hauled to
some local farms where they are now being
used for the animal's enjoyment.
Really....

My dealer takes trades. Chas mentioned that the moto-massage was nearly 20 years old I think.  I was in there once and they had take a Hot Springs tub in that they said was from 89-91.  It was a huge square probably 9x9 with bench seating all the way around and it had the moto in at least 2 seats if I remember.  I think that think would have held a party of 12, and what a party that would be.

Wm,

With all that foam and suds someone should just  stamp "MAYTAG" on the side of the thing.

Does it have a rinse cycle?

If that was my tub, I'd have an overwhelming desire to plumb in 4 statues of naked cherubs through the foutians to give it the classical "Boy peeing in foutain" look.  ;D  Classy.

We used to haul them to the dump, but now we just leave them outside our warehouse.  When we come back the next day, they are gone.  They are probably being made into condos in some border town.
