I am thinking of buying one, and was curious as to how much reagent one uses during the test.

Since the kits come with either a 3/4 oz or 2 oz bottles, was trying to determine in which one made more sense.
Also does that stuff have a shelf life?

the shelf life on most of the reagents is one year.  you only use 5 drops per test so it lasts quite awhile - depending on how often you test.  I don't think I ordered reagents more than once a year with my last spa.
