Water Hardness Question
« on: May 21, 2005, 11:15:20 pm »
I just refilled my tub with hard water from the tap, and tested the water. My total hardness is 360 (We have very hard city water!). I realize that is about double what it should be.  I would like to operate the spa with this level of harness because it is a time consuming issue to mix part hard/part soft as soft water is only available from the kitchen/bathroom faucets, and not the outdoor faucet.   I will be topping up the spa with soft water, so I don't think it will exceed 360.

My question...will this level of hardness damage the spa? Short term? Long term?

Add something like "Spa Defender" by Liesure Time or a similar product.

Keep an eye out for hard water line, and simply keep your pH and TA where they need to be.
