2005 Maxxus Steps
« on: May 12, 2005, 10:10:42 pm »
I recently purchased the 2005 Maxxus from a local dealer.  I noticed that the cedar steps in the showroom didn't match the contour of the spa.  When inquiring about this, the sales rep said that Sundance hadn't changed the stairs from the 2004 model because noboday had been complaining about the mismatch.
Is this true?
Is there a 2005 Maxxus step with proper contour?
Should I insist on getting the right step?

Thanks

The salesman is using words to answer the question, he is not correct.  The new maxxus step will be synthetic and is expected in the near future.  We expect to see them some time in June hopefully sooner.  Let the dealer know you want the contoured step, it is more expensive, and maybe he can provide something in the interim.  If you expect delivery 6 weeks down the road they may then be available.

Synthetic!!... bummer
I really liked the natural wood steps on the 2004 model.

My delivery date is in about 5 weeks, so maybe I will hold off for the new one...

... or maybe I will take a jigsaw to the 2004 steps to get the contour correct!!

I am also waiting for my '05 maxxus steps. I didn't know they were a composite material, I like that because of the no maintainance thing. Hopefully the color matches better than the loaner I have.

I hate to say it but this is truly a "cart before the horse" dilemma.
How can a huge manufacturer like Sundance, which by the way makes one of the best products in this industry, put a spa in the market without a step to go with it?
Don't get me wrong, I love the product. Ever since the Jacuzzi Brands label is in charge, things just aren't the same.
I have over 2 dozen 05 Maxxus spas in the field with backordered steps and lift systems.
It just doesn't make sense to me. And, BTW, the synthetic steps which should be arriving soon, look great. IF, they arrive soon...
