Sorry for this remedial question, but how do you quote small parts of a post without quoting the entire post? ???

Just click in the post and delete what you don't want.  Pay careful attention not to erase any of the brackets, only the words you don't want.

Doing what Term says will work and you can see who the original poster who is being quoted was.  If you just use {quote} and {/quote} and paste in the part of what you want to quote it will highlight it, but it will look like this.
