question about new tub
« on: March 25, 2005, 12:10:25 pm »
Hi Everyone!  Our new Euphoria just arrived.  The tub is filled.  I want to superchlorinate it before using it.

Question:
Does the water need to be hot to superchlorinate?

Thanks

Temp no issue.  I would however,go over chemicals and maintenance, with your dealer,as soon as possible!

Better to be safe,than sorry.

Lastly, never shy away from asking questions here, and with your dealer.

I should qualify my original post by saying that the tub is a replacement tub.  I have the chemical issue down.  My mistake with my last tub was not superchlorinating it right from the start.  My dealer didn't think a fill/flush/fill was necessary.  As a result (or by my own human error) I ended up with a horrible bacterial infection that required a round of antibiotics.  I really am just trying to avoid that scenario this time around.

So far the tub has been completely cleaned, and  I'm refilling it as I type.  :)  The SA is so different from the orinigal Euphoria.  I anxious to try it out.

I like to see the spa at 90 degrees or more before chlorinating. That way the the chlorine disolves much faster. You also have bateria that are not as active at lower temps so you want to have them at the most vunerable point before chlorination....
