Camera Phone

Anyone using a camera phone?  I could see maybe Spatechs documenting conditions to report back. Maybe some people use them to post tub pics/ [glb]relevance tie [/glb] If you are using them are the pictures easy to transfer to PC?

I've never wanted one, but in the past year, I've had two times when they would have been great to have.
(I don't remember if I've told this story)  I was on my way home from work, near MJB's Sundance/Jacuzzi store and the Highway patrol had a guy pulled over and the officer was taking pictures of his truck.

His truck  ::) was a brand new Ford F350 quad cab.  That thing had to be at least $30K out of the show room door I would guess.  But the owner decided to jack it up a bit.   There was no way this thing was street legal.  The tires had to be 6 foot in diameter and the running boards were at my eye level (I'm 6'2) Anyone under 5'10 could easily walk under the chassis in several points.  The stickers were still on the tires, so this thing was probably on its first ride down the interstate.  I would imagine if you were driving this and stopped at a light, you wouldn't be able to see the 6 or 7 cars stopped behind you. It was really amazing. I'm sure he wasn't allowed to drive it away, it would have been fun to watch it get loaded onto a tow truck.

Then today, I saw a woman on the job, who from a profile is a striking resemblence to my deceased mother in law. (Nobody ever had a nicer mother in law) Cameras are not allowed here, I'd love to snap a pic and show my inlaws.

From what I've read, some carriers (Verizon is here in NJ) have the manufactures lock out certain features  in  them ... Camera uploading to pc, downloading MP3 to music phone and things like that.

I think that option can come in handy on occasion but unless all the computers you use have that capability - I use at least 4 different ones a day - it would become a pain.

I would check with your carrier to see what the phone is capable of.

I have a camera phone, and have never used the camera, but my 15 year old has found some pretty creative uses for his. He was having a hard time explaining a school shop project to me, so he took a picture of it with his phone.
I was really impressed in a sporting goods store when the cashier was giving me grief about a pair of shoes that I knew were on sale. He just walked back and snapped a shot of the sale sign and handed it to him!  ;D Case Closed!
I think if you have the email option on your phone, you can email those shots...
Support your dealer so they can support you!

Yep, you can always email the photos to an email address. Just about every phone sold today has photo capability. Usually the resolution isn't the greatest though.
2005 Hot Spring Envoy still going strong. Million-Mile Club....

I want to get in the spa business so I can surf the internet and use Photoshop all day long.

I must be in the stone age, then.  All my cell phone does is make and recieve telephone calls.
In certain cases I can see the usefullness of a cell phone camera, though.

My company just went to issuing the Palm Treo - it's a phone, PDA, camera and who knows what else. The phone S**ks, it's twice as big as a regular cell phone and if it rings while doing something all the work disappears forever for you to answer it.

I prefer to be in the stone age with cell phones. Heck I hate the intrusion of my privacy with it ... in the car enjoying something on the radio - RING RING (or whatever else it plays!) - end of enjoyment!

My phone has a camera in it but I never use it - I bought it for the phone capabilities though my 15 YO son is up for a new phone soon and he wants his to do everything - I told him I'll buy him a Swiss army knife!

For the life of me, I simply couldn't understand why someone would pay extra to get a cell phone that had a low-end camera attached to it. Why not have a good cell and good camera?

That was of course until the day Wayne Gretzky walked into the small pub were were having drinks at during the World Junior Hockey Tournament. He signed all autographs, pics etc.... and guess who didnt' have a camera handy??  >:(

Now I  think they might not be a bad idea - especially with the increased quality of the camera ability with newer models. I would also guess that they are quite easy to interface with your PC etc...
