No Wet Test The Loungers  :(
« on: March 09, 2005, 05:14:01 pm »
Hi again,

Well, my husband just happened to pass by a spa place today.  They sold mostly Sundance.

Since I convinced my husband we needed to wet test (after reading all the posts on this site), he asked the dealer about it.  They said they would let you but unless someone was absolutely insistent, they did not like to fill the tubs with loungers.  He didn't ask them why (of course   :P) so I was wondering if any of you would have any idea why they wouldn't want to do it for tubs with loungers.  I think that would be the most important part you'd want to test.

Because in most instances you'll float and not buy it.
That's my guess...

But most likely because you'll float and not buy.

Maybe someone should invent seat belts for loungers, so people don't float out of them and end up not buying a spa with a lounger.

brew,

I don't know how long you've been around this

industry, but I can remember when there was a

seat belt made for peolpe who floated. It had an

adjustment likea spa cover strap with suction cups on

both ends. It only worked on cast acrylic though.

Funny how some things don't change..

Hey - from a non dealer stand point...I think its kind of ridiculous.

As a dealer - wouldnt you WANT to give your potential buyer the option of trying both types of spas ??

My dealer had 4 spas running at all times...Vista - Geneva - Niagra and Envoy......They wanted to show the difference between lounger and no lounger from both of their major lines.

Needless to say - we tried them all and went with the lounger AND bought from THIS dealer.

My advice to you....if there are other dealers close to you give them a shot and leave this dealer as a last resort.

I also have loungers filled and ready to try. I WANT folks to know if that seat is going to work for them. In my opinion, if a lounger works for you, it's the best seat in the house. If you can't enjoy it, you have lost quite a bit of real estate in your tub.

We have something along those lines available to our customers... Here's one for spas purchased for the cabin...
