What are FRIENDS for?
« on: February 24, 2005, 11:31:22 pm »
Hi All!

Thought I'd share this one with ya...  I've been on the road for awhile lately (this week in Blacksburg at Virginia Tech, next week DC again), so I haven't been in my tub :(.  I asked my buddy Chris to stop and put chems in my tub every 3rd day or so.  The other night I called my (vacant) house to check voice mail and Chris ANSWERS the phone (sorry dude, habit!). He hesitently explains he was just in the kitchen getting a glass of water after he added the chems (10 PM, mind you...). Suddenly I hear a giggle in the background and a woman say "GET THE BEER... OOPS, SORRY!"

Finally he admits to me he was inside getting a beer and his wife and a friend's wife (YEAH!) were out in the tub! GRRRRRRRRR!

Sorry, but I just had to tell someone....

What are FRIENDS for?

It's a HOT tub... anything else is just a POOL!

I hope you had the courtesy to stock the fridge for him and leave fresh towels. Its tough work to check up on a friends spa when he's out of town.

What was your first thought when he answered the phone?
You should have stocked the fridge just for him putting in the chems. Offering the spa to him and his gal would of also been a nice touch.
So,...what day do you return to DRAIN the spa? It sure is nice to have good friends...
Nice job, whether you know it or not ;)

Install a web cam and we will keep an eye out for your tub and call you if there are any problems.

Be little nice to your spa sitter.  Denying them use of the tub but asking them to maintain it may result in something along the lines of
"Gee I don't know how that bottle of Mr. Bubble got dumped in your tub.  Some neighborhood kids must be up to mischief, knowing you're away".

I like the web cam idea. You can set one up and continuously monitor it from anywhere in the world. Plus you could post the link here and we'd be all happy to keep an eye on the activity!  ;D  ;D  ;D
Actually, any friend of mine that I would think enough of to ask them to stop by and check water would be welcome to take a dip! Remember

this thread gives me so much comfort...knowing that we are going away soon, and leaving our baby (the tub, obviously!) in the oh not so capable hands of my young and dangerously wild living sister in law!!

Boys, Boys, Boys,
Tsk, tsk, tsk. All you guys are addressing the visualizations of poor Drewski's guests drinking his beer and doing naughty things in his hot tub without him. Then you convert these fantasies into your own lives, e.g. wild sister in law, web cams and internet, when you all ignored Drewksi's feelings.
So Drewski, I will be the female mind of the bunch and ask : Were your feelings hurt? Or were you jealous? Thinking of revenge or thinking of getting new friends? Silent treatment? Works for me!

On a legit note: how long can the hot tub go without chems?
;)

I've gone 12 days without adding anything to mine. I have turned the temp down and added 3 tbls of dichlor and then left to come home 12 days later to perfect water. O3 and N2 helped to.
