Planning on draining my tub tomorrow. I filled it 6 weeks ago.
Anyone give me any tips on what to do or not to do?

Turn off the power first.

I use a pool vac hose to siphon. It moves a lot of water quickly, so you need to have a place to put that water.

Speaking of which, if your chlorine level is down, you can drain onto your yard area. If the chlorine level is really high, drain onto your neighbor's yard....

Or into the street.

If this is a simple water change, you don't need to get 100% of the water out. But if you were having problems, its not a bad idea to drain the tub as completely as you can: shop vac the seat or other areas which may hold a bit of water, including the jet system, filter areas and open built-in drains and let them empty.

Once you get a good siphon going, you can get in the tub and use the hose to vacuum out all the dirt and grit that's settled on the seat and floor surfaces too. Saves some time in getting that stuff out when the water's gone.

If you're using a garden hose to drain, consider a 3/4" hose.  They will move more water than the standard 5/8" (I think) size most of have around the house.

A tip I have started offerring.....when you refill place the hose into the bottom of your filter area (primary circulating filter is there if there is more than one). This will help force out air locks.

Nope. That one doesn't count. They specifically asked for "Draining" tips, not "Refilling" tips.

Thanks everyone! I live out in the country on 10 acres, and the neighbors are actually uphill from me.   ;) We are also on a dirt road.
As for refilling, when I first filled I used that trick..no air lock  :D
thanks again.
