Good price for a Coleman 705?
« on: January 30, 2005, 04:36:01 pm »
A dealer gave me a price of $7495 for a 2004 model year Coleman 705.

Any opinions?  Is this a good deal?  Or, should I negotiate a little more?

Thanks.

Yes it has Ozone.
Yes, I have been in one.

So, this is the one I want.  However, I also want to be sure this is a fair price.  I would be very unhappy (regardless how much I liked the tub), if I found out others were paying $6995!  I can handle a price difference of plus or minus 3-5%  (which woud be $225 to $375).  If others were buying the tub for much cheaper than that, then I would be unhappy.

Also, there is only one Coleman dealer here in town.

With the thought of being fair if you are within 500.00 dollars of what most are paying you are doing fine...the simple fact is not all costs are the same to the dealer....it is hard for sure to know exactly what someone else is getting with their deal that you may or may not be getting....if a lifter or steps are included which ones.....if the difference in cost exceeds the 500.00 for what appears to be a similar deal...than yeah maybe it is out of line....225 to 375 is pretty rigid with so many variables out there.....

EXCELLENT PRICE!!!!!

We haven't been able to sell a 705 at that price for several years.

The 2005's have gone up so you'll have to pay more if you wait.

I just bought a 2005 Elite Premium 85 (3500 Series) (Maax's other line of spas) that has many of the same features as yours, at the Cleveland Home & Garden Show.  I got it for $6,900 out the door (taxes, delivery, set-up etc.) which included stairs, UV ozonator, blower, cover, cover lifter, and start-up chemicals.  Dealer also extend warranty on UV ozonater from 2-yrs to 5-yrs. Dealer also does not charge a trip charge.   Just need to provide electrical installed.  You may want to check out www.maax.com to compare my tub vs. your tub.  Mike
