Better Late Than Never.....
« on: January 18, 2005, 11:41:37 pm »
Hi Folks! I need to thank you for your advise from early November. We bought the "wet demo" J-345, and are loving it. I was in tonight, 4 degrees! The condition was truely flawless from what I could tell. Initial fill lasted until last week. It developed a ten minute head around the same time I sprung for a Taylor kit. CYA was extreme, and chlorine levels hard to raise. I've been lurking and gleaning here, and am going with an N2, MPS, enhanced shock strategy. My question here is if/when/how much on the stain & scale stuff? I've heard it doesn't play well with the N2.

I use Stain and Scale every other week alternating it with an enzyme.

I have a personal theory; Stain & Scale is designed to create a solution, Enzymes are designed to break down oils.....I think they counteract one another.

Should have no problem though with the N2

Congrats on the J-345 from another Jacuzzi J-345 owner.  You're going to really enjoy it. It's a tough tub to beat for the money.  I use dichlor with stain and scale about every 2 weeks.  Usage has been down a little, so I'm not too worried about it.

What colours did you get ?

Happy tubbin'

I was told to put the stain and scale in the day after shocking with dichlor since the dichlor reduces it's effectiveness.

I try to make a habit of add it or any enzymes at differant times. I personally feel that you don't need it every week...

My dealer's instructions agree with stuart.  Add stain&scale and enzymes on alternating weeks.

Thank you, thank you!! We even braved the blizzard warnings to soak last night! The Spa Godess provided an hour of lighter winds for us.
