There's a saying...The sqeaky wheel gets the grease...This guy is taking that to the extreme. Sometimes the more you give the more they want.

I feel you've gone over and above for this guy. Sounds like he's using his position as a cop to try to intimitade you and the situation. I'm sure it's not a first for him.

Stuart sometimes we get so caught up in trying to provide good customer service that we totally overlook the fact that we're dealing with a no win situation.

He would more than likely be the customer from hell and nothing you do will satisfy him. Cut your losses put your best deal forward ( in writing ) and have him sign if he accepts.

Just don't drink and drive anymore  ;D

I agree with Spahappy. sometimes the best thing you can do is send a customer with that type of attitude to your  competitor and let them have the heartache. being in retail for over 25 years I have found some people to be impossible to deal with. They only understand taking advantage of people. No matter what you do he will never be happy and badmouth you anyway,so cut your losses and move on. BTW ,you did everything and more to satisfy him .If he can,t see that ,you don't want him around anyway. I hope my dealer shows as much concern for me in my hour of need. Kudos to you Stuart. bobhol...

I have sold over a third of the city police dept. and although he by no means intimidates me (in fact we look very much the same shaved head and all!) I enjoy the word that has spread about us throughout their group and the sales we have made from them.

Then in this case you may have more to gain by going the extra mile for him.  Your choice.

I think this is my plan, give him the money back, pick up the loaner spa (paying for the crane), give him the $500 credit, send him a gift certificate for his wife and him to have dinner and then give each of the other two cops $25 in store credits for sending him to us in the first place…

In my opion this is the best solution to this situation.

Huh, allowing strangers to check out your spa? Do you think you have a Haven spa or something?

But I've heard he is an a..hole......"

Thanks a lot.  You took a perfectly good classic tune, and corrupted it!
