Delivery for 2005 Marquis Reward Monday

I have scheduled delivery for Monday for a 2005 Marquis Reward.  We decided to go with the taupe granite interior.  Thanks for the help.  It looks like it should hide any eventual scratches or hard water spots.

I will be doing the wiring myself.  In Minnesota I am told the homeowner is allowed to do their own electrical work.  I currently have a 50 amp disconnect box by a cement slab porch under a screen porch.  Next spring the spa porch will also be screened in. The inside wiring to the disconnect box is 6/3 w/ground.  I have a gfci breaker in the main box.  I will be using THNN conductors (wires) in water tight flexible conduit from the disconnect box to the spa.  The total run will be about 10 - 14 feet.  Would you use 6 or 8 gauge wire for this run?  Eight gauge is good for up to 55 amps while 6 gauge is good for up to 75 amps.

I would go with the 6

Definately go with the 6 gauge.
I think that 8 gauge is only good to 40 amps, but I could be wrong.  
My owners manual says to only use 8 gauge copper.
You may also want to check on the length of that sealtite.  I think the maximum allowable length is about 6'.  You may need to run schedule 40 or schedule 80 pvc conduit and switch over to the sealtite for the final 6'.  Also consider that of this, there may be a few feet of sealtite inside the spa, from the gromet to the electrical connect inside the service panel.
 And also being from Minnesota, and having wired my own spa, you are allowed to do wiring on your own property.  In my city, the State Board Of Electricity issues the permit, and does the inspections.

Congradulations on your purchase!05 reward is an awsome spa.out of curiosity how much did you pay?

First let me say that I am not a certified electricain, but I would not hook up any 240 volt spa with less than a  6 gauge wire. You have to carry current x amount of feet, an 8 gauge may not handle it.  Please follow up with your experience once you fire up the Reward. I have heard alot of good things about this model, specifically.
