What temp do you set your spa to?
« on: December 19, 2004, 01:47:44 pm »
Mine is set at 102F.  Someone told me lastnight that I should never have it above 99F in the winter because of possible damage to heart and kidneys.  Sounds like bunk to me but I haven't been able to find any real information.

What do the pro's say about it.?

agreed bunk, they wouldn't sell tubs if that were true.   102 most of the time, on days like today at 15F and a light snow fall with no wind its 104 so I can enjoy the weather for 30 minutes or so.

I keep mine at 99-101.  I prefer 101,the wife likes it at 99-100.

104 ok,but I can only tolerate it that hot for about 10 minutes.

I find 102 to be the right mix for me....after 20 minutes or so I sweat......but still comfortable enough for me to stay in....If you have health issues check with your doctor....

At 99, I would ask, what brand of lukewarm tub do you own ? ;)  Tonight I'll be soaking at 104 withan outside temp of between 0-5F, I'll bet you could take 104 for more than 10 minutes that way.

When mine actually has water in it, I keep it at 99-100.
But it doesn't get super cold here in California either.

hotter than anyone as of yet has mentioned..............
If you can't sell it on eBay, it may not even qualify as landfill.

How hot can I go? Or my hot tub?

Actually, I think I'd perfer to not answer either on the grounds that I might get flamed by some of the other pros here  ;D

I will tell you though that I did 110, about once a week, many years ago at some natural hot springs in southern California, and my business partner experienced 115 some years ago in Japan.
