What was the last year HS used Redwood?
« on: December 05, 2004, 12:54:27 pm »
When was the last year Hotspring used reel Redwood for their cabinets?  Also, can I tell what model year a HS Spa is from the serial number or is it a sequential number?  Another words, will the year be included in the number or does it have to be de-coded by the dealer?

Thanks

Don't recall the last year with wood, think it was about 1996 or so.

The serial numbers go like this:

G-391234
First letter is the model. G=Grandee, and there are a mess of other ones.
first number after the model is: 3=made in the third quarter of the year.
Second number is: 9=made in 1989. A=1999, B=2000, C=2001, D=2002, E=2003, F=2004, G=2005
Last four digits are the serial part.

A=1999, B=2000, C=2001, D=2002, E=2003, F=2004, G=2005 ........................ Q=2015

;D

if the difference between 3 and 4 is 1, how is it that there's no difference between 4 and 9? (this has nothing to do with Hot Springs)
If you can't sell it on eBay, it may not even qualify as landfill.

Well, there were timer boards, electronic thermostats and a few other things shoved inside the older style boxes for a few years around '95, but I think the IQ2000 came out in 1997 and went through 2000 - then came the IQ2020.
