Who bought a Bullfrog in 2022 or prior from the Bullfrog Costco Roadshow Event?

Hey Hot Tubbies,

I have been seriously considering a Bullfrog 2013 A6L SS from a local dealer. But now reading that its single 2-speed pump may could be somewhat low on pressure, especially given that this particular A6L has (4) JetPaks, instead of (3). On the good side, it has a Circ. Pump (1/15 HP).

I ran across the fact that Bullfrog annually does Roadshow Events at Costcos in seven regions across the country. They will be near me in the SF Bay Area/ Nor Cal. the first few months of 2024. They go for 1 week at one area Costco, then to another, eight stores in this Nor Cal. region.

If anyone has purchased a Bullfrog via one of these Costco Bullfrog Roadshows, we love to hear the details of your experience. Did you have to buy specifically spec'ed tub, say the base Trim Level for each model? Just a few models? I understand that the pricing was ≈ 18% below dealer quoted prices. Local dealer prices will vary, but I'd guess The Roadshow Event prices will be the same across all Roadshow Costco stores. I understand that local dealers actually put on the Roadshow events. I sent an inquiry on pricing and model availability to Bullfrog via their website yesterday. If I get any response, I'll post it here. I'll probably call a large local dealer and ask if they are the ones putting on the Tracy Costco Bullfrog roadshow (nearest me Jan 5th – 14th 2024)

I may be tempted to work an extra two months before retiring this spring to justify adding ≈ $10,000 to my ‘$5,000 used tub budget’. Not sure about going the new Bullfrog route even if the Roadshow pricing turns out to save between ≈$3100 to $3500 depending on the Trim Level of the A6L (Standard, Plus, Select).

My only issue with these roadshows is warranty service. You are essentially buying direct or if not direct, from a dealer who is not local to your area (see Masterspa)

Finding someone who can and will do warranty service on your roadshow tub might be an issue. You will want to thoroughly research this prior to buying.

The Bullfrog Roadshow events at Costco's are actually put on by a local (to that particular store) Bullfrog dealer. I spoke to the dealer putting on the local to me, Costco Roadshow. The dealer does not make their normal margins for these tub sales due to the already highly discounted 'Costco pricing' -and- that he said Costco get 15% of the sale price. Maybe it's like a loss leader sale for the local dealer. Maybe his benefit is upping his sales count helping his factory contract benefits, figures a lot people won't buy at Costco, but the dealer's name is planted in the large Costco shopper traffic, people with Bullfrog Costco tubs tell their friends how much they love they 'Bullfrog' hot tubs. Hmmn, just occurred to me that due to that last point, maybe the factory discounts the tub price more than normal for sales through the Costco program. This sounds likely, but the dealer did not mention it. I am going to this dealer today to wet test, Hopefully I remember to ask this question. ;o)

The Bullfrog 2013 A6L SS sounds like a sweet deal, especially with those JetPaks and the Circ. Pump. The Costco Roadshow events seem like a great way to snag a deal, especially with that 18% below dealer prices offer. If you end up getting more info from Bullfrog or the local dealer, definitely share it here! Working a bit longer to boost your budget for the tub sounds like a solid plan.
