Hydropool Serenity 5 FREE!
« on: November 10, 2004, 09:22:49 am »
A freind of mine WON a Serenity 5 hot tub from a local radio station. When I was hunting down for my hot tub this was not on my list so I don't know much about them. One of the Q I have for anyone that has one is this. 40 AMP or 50 AMP GFCI? And is there any other info that they need to know. The company that donated the hot tub don't really have a sales department for this. There primary business is gardening (flowers, plants ect.) Having the Hot Tubs is more of a side business for them and they have not really been able to answer to many of there questions.

Does this spa have any installation or owners manuals?
That should be where the electrical requirements are outlined.  Not sure if this spa company has a website, but if so, that may be another source of information.

There is a Manual PDF download. Without reading it (didn't want todownload the PDF) I would say a 50 will do, but send that link to your friend and he/she shall have their answers.

The Serenity 5 is now called the "Special Edition". Our Marvelous Moderator has the right picture for it. This spa can run no problem on a 40 amp GFI #8 wire. The only reason to upgrade it to a 50 with #6 wire is if you might want to upgrade your spa years down the road and not worry about replacing the GFI and all the wire.

Nice win by the way for your friend. As HTM mentioned, they download the operating guide right from Hydropools website. If they want it in hard copy, call 1-800-465-2933 and we can send you one out.

Let me know if I can help in any way.

Steve
P.S. Thanks Lori but you gotta stop putting that kinda pressure on me in your title! ;D  ;)
