MSRP vs actual price?
« on: June 16, 2015, 06:08:52 pm »
I have MSRP pricing on a hot tub that I'm interested in (from the manufacturer).

What % of that should I aim for or expect to spend?

A general idea of where to start when negotiating with my dealer is what I'm looking for.

Thank you.

 A brand would really help?

Sorry.  Sundance.

I'm looking at an Edison and a Ramona.  680 series.  Both on floor.  I know MSRP on them.

Dealer is $300 below MSRP on Edison.  Not sure about Ramona.  I haven't negotiated yet, just went in to casually look around.

If I use MSRP as a starting point, what percent of that should I look to spend?

Thanks.

MSRP tends to be strategically inflated and mean little so I'm not sure how much help knowing it could be. If you posted what they actually offered there may be some here who can help.

I don't think there is a formula.  Pricing simply varies by brand, dealer and region.

The Edison should be sitting 6 to 6500 range and the Ramona probably the 7 to 7500 range give or take where you are.  300 off MSRP for any spa isn't much.
