pH vs. TA
« on: November 08, 2004, 12:41:34 pm »
Generally, my water seems ok, but is running a little high on the pH side  - currently about 7.8.  I have been trying to use pH down to get it down as it had been around 8, but it seems to be more effective on reducing my TA (currently about 100, was about 150) than my pH.

Is there a suggested way of adding the pH down, like dissolving the pH down in water and then adding it, or does adding the crystals directly have a better effect on pH vs. TA?

What does your dealer recomend??  That's what they're there for, to help their customers.

Are you using Nature 2??  If so a pH of 7.8-8.0 is perfectly normal as the Nature 2 has a pH of 7.9.  If the water is clear and you are having no problems, either with clarity or skin irritation, don't worry about it.

Thanks poolboy.  Nope haven't called my dealer, and yep, you're right, I should.  It's just so easy to post a message and get a response here!  :)

But is there a difference between pre-dissolving the pH down in water or adding it in crystal form?  ???
