Learn from my mistakes II
« on: October 24, 2004, 09:19:33 am »
Last night, I think I did everything wrong. I was out late at Curling practice, and I didn't get home till midnight. The previous few nights have been cold and we have enjoyed several long soaks at 104.

I hadn't eaten since noon, so I stopped at the Wendys for a burger and fries. Only waited 10 minutes after eating before going in the tub. (Mom would be mad) We had a warm front come through that evening and it was still above 60 degrees outside, so the tub was sitting at 105.  I had a bag of 4 new jets I had bought from our dealer, trying to add a little variety to the massage. I found that the smaller size of the interchangable jets a little harder to get in an out with water in the tub.

My wife came up with the idea of using one of the little rubber squares that are used to open jars and that worked great. So here I was on a full stomach after a night of strenous excercise, installing these jets and moving them around. in a tub that was hot. About 30 minutes of this and I suddenly realized that I am an idiot.  I think I came pretty close to heat exhaustion. I hadn't felt this way since I walked 18 holes in 90 heat wearing weighted shoes.

Boy whas that scary. I took a cold shower, drank just a small amount of cold water and laid down and was ok in 20 minutes. Now I at least know the warning signs.

Glad to here your OK.

You just reminded me of something I learned the other day (completely off subject).  Does any one know why there are 18 holes on a golf course?
