Out spa is sunk into the deck. The deck and the first step into the spa are about even. It is easy to flip the lid back and push it off until is lays on its side near the tub.
There may exist a cover lifter that works with little clearance, and I thought of fabricating one at one point.
Before the deck was built it did take 2 people (or 1 person and alot of stress on the stitiching) to remove/put back the cover.
