Hottub arrives tonight!!!
« on: October 13, 2004, 01:11:24 pm »
I'm too excited, my hottub arrives tonight!

Beachcomber 750
2 - 4.5 hp pumps
Hush pump
Protec step
turbo
LED light
LED garden lights
Stereo
Reflex foot massage

I have my pad down for the tub.  Railroad ties dug in,
with patio stones and sand packed between.  Very solid,
and quite level.

I have to install the electrical still though.  Hope I can
get that done today.  I have all the components.
Breaker in the house is installed, just have to mount
GFI and run cable tonight after work.

Hopefully I can get it all done, and soak for the first time
tomorrow!

Get the GFI box mounted and get the line to it, that leaves only the final hook up which took me 30 minutes. (in the rain at midnight, but that is an old story around here ) ;D

I figure my biggest problem is getting the power from the main panel, out of the house.

Mounting the GFI box should be easy, so should wiring the tub.

I will have to drill through my concrete foundation to
get the power out.  That may take a while.

Congrats KC-SWO,

I hope that you get in your tub soon! There a quite a few Beachcomber owners on this forum that could help you if you run into a few snags along the way.

   Good luck!

Got the tub last night.
It is set in place, looks good!!

The dealer assembled the pumps, but it got dark,
and started to rain really hard, so I did not get the
electrical done.

I just have to terminate at the tub, and in the house
main panel.  GFI is mounted, with cable ran to the tub, and to the house.

Tonight, hopefully, clean tub, start filling, terminate
electrical, and start her up.

Somehow this all made in on my to do list before
hooking up the washer / dryer.   ;D

Huh?  What exactly did the dealer have to do when they came out to deliver?  Only thing our delivery guys did was hook up the ozonator, install the cover lifter and put the tub in place.  Just curious what they had to do with the pumps.

BTW... Contrats, hopefully it won't take too long to heat up for you.

The Protec pump system came in 3 pieces.
-Pump 1 & hushpump
-main control box
-Pump 2 and Turbo

All connect to the tub via plastic pipe with gaskets and
hand turn quick connects.

Remember on a Beachcomber the pumps are under the
step.  When the tub arrived, the pumps are not IN the step.  The pumps get assembled to the tub, and the
step fits over the pumps.

Ahh.  I'm not familiar with Beachcomber as there are no dealers down here in NC.  Didn't realize that the pumps were not inside the cabinet.

Good thing he spent the time to hook them up or else you'd have no pumps.   ::)  Best of luck with the rest of the install.  Hopefully you'll be soaking soon!!

Sounds like you got a 2003. Unless Beachcomber has back tracked on their so called 2004 improvements. One these changes was that the equipment (pumps, management system, blower) are all mounted on one piece of ABS. The dealer would simply have to union this equipment to the tub. One off the benefits was supposed to be that the dealer could store and transport this all in one box instead of the 3/2 boxes in the past.

I bought a tub the dealer had in stock.
I was told it as a 2004.  I could be wrong.
If it is a leftover 2003, well I probably should be a little
upset, then again I just got my tub so......

The three piece setup seemed nice to me:
All components easy to carry.
Nothing too heavy (besides the tub itself)
The pumps appeared to go together very simple
There were no alignment problems

It looked like a pile of parts in the boxes, but
once set out, it appeared very easy to put together.
