Oh great, another one of those "non-full foam", generates-heat-through-motors, vents all over the place tubs.  I'm almost certain that thing would leak like a sieve.

What is the best tub?

Funny, but I think you should answer some questions before I answer yours.

What kind of budget have you set aside for your purchase?

What size of spa were you hoping for?

How much space do you have for your future spa?

Will it be installed on a patio, a pad, a deck, on pavers, on an EZ pad, on bare ground, or inside your home?

How many bathers will you be accomodating?

Is your purchase for leisure use or for physical therapy?

Have you decided on what voltage requirements you will need? 120v or 240v?

Do you prefer an acrylic shell or are you interested in a Centrex shell? Are you opposed to a rotationally molded spa?

Are you more comfortable in a seated position? Or would you rather lounge?

How many jets would you like?

Is jet variety important to you?

Would you prefer top-loading filtration or in-line pressurized filtration?

What sort of warranty coverage were you hoping for?

Do you want to buy from a big box retailer, internet retailer, or a local dealer?

You get my drift- with the variables involved, I cant possibly just give you a list of manufacturer favorites as an endorsement and expect you to find the best spa for you...Everyone is different and has different expectations. Selecting your own spa is a very personal process. Dont let someone else do it for you, because they dont have to soak in it.

Maybe but I think not. I think there may be some companies that may not go out of business. There may be some local dealers that won't go out of business. The dealers in my area seem to change brands and disappear from the phone book before the ink dries. I am wary of trusting local and national dealers to be around long enough to provide any warranty. And just what is a Lifetime warranty in your state?

I think the service people can make the best recommendations. Some of the biggest brand loyalists on this site have switched companies.

If you have an older tub, say 6 or 8 years old and have problems with it the dealers may not be able to do much for you if the tub is a real lemon? The manufacturers don't seem to have mass recalls to fix their mistakes.

You dealers really think you will be around longer than me? How many places have come and gone in 20 years? Make it 10 years since anyone with a problem on an older tub is scoffed at for complaining instead of buying new. I am getting too old to trust these type of references.

It is interesting to visit a dealer that used to carry X brand last year and swore it was the best and then this year they have Y brand and switched because of issues. Yeah, and you did not share the issues when you were having them did you? And now who provides service on the ones you sold before changing supplyers?
