M8 questions
« on: October 04, 2020, 01:54:50 am »
Hey, I'm looking at a M8. Is a larger wide enough for two people? How comfortable do you find it to be? I've read cautions on the ABS shell, and the controls not being Balboa. How do you like the quality of the tub? I'm looking at this or an artesian pelican bay.

I've not been able to find a lot of reviews on the M8. I'm really curious what people think of it.

Thanks.

I've actually soaked in my floor model, the lounger is wide enough for 2 and although I'm not much of a lounge guy the M8 is pretty sweet with tons of leg therapy/jets.  Bullfrog actually dumped Balboa about 2 years ago due to massive failures and recalls in their equipment, it was really bad for awhile, so far Gecko has been much better in my unbiased opinion.  Good Luck!

Thanks for the feedback! I've been looking at the M9 now since there are because 3 lounge seats. Just missing two jets in the thigh area. Both seem nice.

The M9 has some pretty cool lounge 'style' seats in it, I just unwrapped a brand new M9 for my floor and although I haven't tried it 'wet' yet the lounger style seats are super comfortable dry testing anyway.  I just dropped off a Jetpak for a customer who bought an M8 from me and had it delivered 2 weeks ago, he's been in it every night and loves loungers especially the fact one is a little 'deeper' than the other so it works perfect for him and his wife was what his feedback was. Good Luck!

When they switched to Gecko equipment I was convinced that the sky was falling.  I was quite wrong.  So far it looks like the Gecko controls are proving to be much more reliable.

I guess Bullfrog designed the circuit board in conjunction with Gecko.  They basically showed them exactly what they wanted and Gecko builds it.  It has proven to be a great decision in my opinion.

That's good to hear as other sites have complained about the gecko controls. I have my new M8 heating up. How to get in tomorrow night.

You’ll have to report back to us after your first soak and post a picture of the tub.

I was originally planning to purchase an M7, but I got my refundable deposit back and went with an Artesian Pelican Bay.  As much as I loved the M7, it was overpriced by almost $4,000 locally.  I could literally get an M9 about 2 hours away for less than the local M7.  I also didn’t care for the local company that sells them.  They were nice, but not very professional or well-informed on their tubs. If I could have bought from the Bullfrog store 2 hours away, I would have.

I ended up purchasing the Artesian Pelican Bay.  I’m not sure if the Pelican Bay or the M8 is a better tub, but both manufacturers have excellent reputations and build quality tubs.

Since you and I were both considering the same hot tub models, but ended up with the opposite, I’ll be curious to hear what you think.  My Pelican Bay won’t be here unti May/June.  You must have found a floor model to be able to soak in it so soon—lucky you!
