Hot Tub over pavers
« on: August 10, 2020, 11:45:38 am »
My mason is putting Cambridge Pavers (2 3/8" thick) over a dry pack 4" base concrete. The area where the hot tub will go is a depth of 5" plus the pavers. I did not see them use any wire though. The concrete is the traditional very dry under the pavers instead of a stand alone wet poured slab. What do you think a safe cure time is to support a 7' x 7' x36" Hot Tub spa that holds 340 gallons? The unfilled weight is 830 lbs and filled 4715 lbs.

A standard concrete slab requires 2 weeks before its at 90% strength.

I have no idea about your dry pour, but I would suggest at least a month. And I would suggest going out daily and soaking the area down with the hose. More water = faster cure time.
