Some piping with no water flowing?
« on: November 21, 2019, 09:55:42 pm »
I recently purchased a used Grandee model from early 2017.  I’m just getting it running and everything seems ok.  One thing I noticed was that there were a few clear tubes inside that didn’t have any water in them when the tub was running.  Is this normal?  This is my first hot tub so almost no experience to draw from.  Two of the tubes like this are wrapped in a loop.  They seem to head off through the right side of the spa.

I've run the spa and can't find any jets that don't seem to be working.

Maybe a ozone line with no ozonator?

If they are hoses without water and look like they never had water then they're undoubtedly just the air intake hoses that feed air that is drawn into the jets.

Okay, thanks... one did have a little bit of water in it at startup... but there wasn't any in it when I looked a few days later... they both are somewhat crimped where the are "wrapped up", I guess to take up some slack.

Since everything seems to be working okay, I'll go with that, as long as there is some sort of potential answer.  :)

Thanks!

Ooo! I think I know this one!

My 2019 HS Jetsetter was just installed and I was snapping all sorts of pictures and asking questions while they were setting it up.  I also noticed several clear tubes which had been "taped off" with tape.  I was curious so I asked what those were - the one I pointed out to him was actually a makeshift "wire conduit" for running the speaker wires to their correct location.  In mine it looks like they pre-ran a red string through the tubing to make fishing the speaker wire through the channel extremely easy for installers.

If I'm correct those pipes should head off towards your bartop where the speakers would be installed
