Arctic Spas Swim Spa in California
« on: July 14, 2019, 11:40:08 am »
Any latest Arctic Spas swim Spa product, performance & sales, particularly in California?

We are retired seniors in Silicon Valley in California. We seek daily exercise in simple but highly durable & reliable swim spas by tethered swimming.
Simple swim spa, maximum swim cavity, 1 pump, couple simple jets, seating for 1 or 2. No propulsion, no swim jets, seating for 2,
Basic control for simple maintenance

We like Arctic Spas’ Athabascan swim spa. Around 14 feet, 1 pump, 2 jets.

Major concern is no dealer, no show room, support, maintenance in Northern California. Nearest contact is Spokane, Washington.

Your comments and suggestions are much appreciated.

"Major concern is no dealer, no show room, support, maintenance in Northern California. Nearest contact is Spokane, Washington."

-- You have answered your own question.  Large ticket items should come with the aforementioned support that you're lacking in this specific instance.  This is not a slight at Arctic Spas - Rather, I'd say that about any brand the fell under this circumstance.

Instead of looking at brands, find the dealers in your delivery / service radius, see what brands they have, check into their showroom, test them out, make sure the dealer is reputable, then make a decision based on brands from there.  Follow up on this forum for more expert advice and then make your ultimate decision from there.

I hope this helps.  Good luck moving forward.

You certainty want a local dealer. A lot of the major spa makers manufacture swim spas nowadays and I'm sure you have a couple options in an area like yours. You should check the dealer locators on the websites for Artesain, Caldera, D1, Hot Spring, Jacuzzi, Marquis and Sundance so you can call each of  them to see if they have swim spas on their floor and what brand they carry.

220, 221, whatever it takes!

Yes, we have wet tested all possible dealers and showrooms in Silicon Valley, Northern California area. We went to several spa shows at local shopping malls and fair grounds, where East coast spa manufacturers bring in their spas.
We have yet find ANY swim spa design near Arctic’s Athabascan. This is the ONLY 14 ft swim spa with the largest simple swim cavity, seating 2, minimal 1 pump 2 jets, no swim jet nor propulsion.

May be some of you out there can tell us any other swim spa manufacturers make similar product just for tethered swimming?
No, we are not interested in any seats for group drinking party nor jets galore nor propulsion like the stupid endless pool.

The r200 or r500 are pretty damn close in openness.  In fact, if you are comparing gallons, the r500 beats the openness of the artic.

Granted... it's 15 feet.

I've personally had a lot of luck with the r200 and r500 for people not wanting the swim jets, even though it has some.  They are wide open, easy to get in.

If you go to a dealer and take a test swim, they will give you $50 to amazon in the month of July.  Got to fill out a form on their website.

Stupid Endless Pools... making their pools endless... which I guess is the point for the most part?

D00nut, thank you for your responses.
Yes, we tried Endless Pool with Propulsion and numerous other swim spas with Swim Jets. These are designed for Olympic class strong swimmers.
In wet tests, we end up pushed by the waves to collides with spa walls and seats, and fighting not to drank more wave water.
We are retired seniors and ONLY interested tethered slow swimming as exercise.

The Endless Fitness E500 15' 52” MSRP starts at $31K. Arctic Athabascan 14’ is half that. Endless Fitness R200 12' is near our budget but is too short. Do you know if they are willing to sell without those swim jets for less?

The R200 is half the MSRP of the E500.  And use simple swim jets, which you don't need to use.

I think you are grouping all Endless with each other.  There is generally something for everyone.

Have you looked at the tidal fit EP-14

https://tidalfit.com/the-exercise-pool/tidalfit-exercise-pools-models/ep/premium-ep-14/

Their swim system has a variable flow that can be turned down to snails pace.

They are made by Artesian.  Build quality is excellent.  Lifetime shell warranty.  I'm a big fan of them.

All the Arctic Spas dealers and users, I love to hear from you.

Have you use or sold any Athabascan model? What is your experiences on this swim spa? What is the maintanence and support needed? What is your tethered swim experiences? What is your experience with control panel user interface? Any maintanence of the 1 pump 2 jets? What is the alternative to the aging of wooden ceder cabinet?
Would you recommend any sight unseen and no local support in purchase of this model?

Thank you very much of your comments. If you must, please direct message to me, jgy2001@gmail.com.  Thanks a lot.
