Standard temperature for pump electric motor. Please help.

I was buy very old hot tube ( year of production is 1996  :) but it is made in USA  8) ) I make little maintenance and all running very well just water pump motor overheating.

Please what is standard temperature of running electric motor.

I check it by laser thermometer on flange (bearing place) 64C and 75C but on the body in the midle is 93C.

Please it is corect?

 At 150f to 160 that us running pretty hot.  Does the internal switch shut it off, or does it keep running?

If it is running hot (there are a ton of variables that determine what is to hot) it should throw a breaker before it burns up.......assuming it is on a proper GFCI

Jacuzzi Jim: On the motor plate is information about thermally protection but never switch off it is overheat but running.



Tman122: Yes i have GFCI (current protector) 30mA but never switch off.

 Yeah like Tman said a lot of variables there as to why it's over heating.   It looks pretty old?  I'd say you have 2 options, run it as is till it dies. Which guessing won't be long.
 Or I would replace it.  No idea price wise where your at, but it would be your best bet.

I read somewhere that the motor is designed to reveal when it's running hot by discoloring the casing (is that true?), which appears to be happening in your case.
