2004 Optima - brown stuff
« on: September 06, 2004, 01:52:22 pm »
Have an issue with my 2004 optima.  I have a small trail of brown stuff coming out where the ozone comes out/drain and leads to the base of the floor jet.  Its only about 4-5 inches long but I cant seem to get rid of it.     I can clean it, but it keeps coming back. Im using N2, Ozone and dichlor.  Any suggestions?

Thanks

Did you use Swirl Away on your initial fill and then drain/refill?  Might just be some gunk left behind from the manufacturing test process.  If it keeps showing up, I would definitely clean out the lines with Swirl Away before the next refill.  Havent seen any brown stuff in our Optima.

If I remember, we had a bit of waterline deposit on our first water, which was easily scrubbed away.
It was light brown in color.
Have not had it return since that water was changed.
We don't have ozone in our spa, though.

What is your chemical routine?

It could be iron being oxidized by the ozone.
