Sundance Denali, Jacuzzi J-210, Hot Springs Jetsetter

Hi Everyone!

I've been reading this forum and am finally going to buy a hot tub. I have been quoted $4995 and no tax for Denali, $4999 plus tax for Jacuzzi J-210. I am kind of partial to the round tubs, hence the Denali and J-210. The Jetsetter ($6499) and Prodigy ($6999) are also options. Not sure if  they are far superior tubs for the extra money. Which is the best option?

Second, why wouldn't people just get the prodigy instead and pay the extra $500?

Third, there is a 1 year old used softtub through Craigslist for $2000, which I am also considering.

I'm not a fan of how round tubs feel because I prefer a squared off seat back which you don't get from a round tub but some just like the throwback look.

Soft tubs are a far cry from the other tubs you're looking at IMO. I wonder if it has a heater and I wonder what it went for new (it may be a year old but the warranty won't transfer).

Maybe some people prefer the smaller Jetsetter due to space constraints but I agree, for only $500 more I'd want the bigger spa assuming the package deals are similar.

Really low prices on the Prodigy and Jetsetter.  I would go Prodigy unless you are confined by space.  Jacuzzi and Sundance are quality manufacturers, but your looking at their entry level lines compared to a high end Hotspring, not an apples to apples comparison.

Plus $949 to Connect the electrical at my house. Plus tax! Includes Delivery, Cover lift, stairs, and delivery. Sounded kind of high to me!

I am at $8499 for a Prodigy and $300 for the 220V upgrade.  Electrical varies from situation to situation, but I normally tell my customers to expect $800 - $1200 for 220V electrical installation.

Is that for a new 2018 model? My quote was for a 2017 floor model from a home show they had a couple of weeks ago. Do you think I have some negotiating room?

You can always try to negotiate, but your dealer determines the price they sell for.  The local market, dealer overhead, shipping cost, etc determine the price.  If the Prodigy is what you want, offer to purchase at a slightly lower price then you have been quoted.  If they accept, be prepared to purchase on the spot (as a dealer, I really dislike when a customer negotiated a price and is not ready to buy.  If I’m offering a deal lower then I should sell for, I expect a sale to occur).  If they decline and know you are willing to walk away, then you know they are at their lowest price.

Awesome!!! Thanks for all the great advice. I haven’t pulled the plug yet on the Prodigy. The seats seem soooo low to the bottom of the tub. I don’t know if that will be confortable for very long.  What do you think the price difference would be between the Vanguard and Prodigy with and upgraded 220v?

I was gonna say!  I thought that's about what I sold the prodigy for back when I sold hot spring in the 90's.  That's a crazy good deal.
