The electrician should be wiring the optima today so if everything goes as planned, I should be soaking by midnight.
Looking for advice on filling the tub.

Many manufacturers suggest filling through the filter compartment.  Check your owner's manual and follow it.  Congrats and good luck!

Once your tub is warm enough - get in a soak before you put the chemicals in.  It's hot today, so it may be great to go in at 85-90 degrees.  This way you won't have to wait so long!  Then you can put your shock in and soak again first thing in the morning.

Just curious - what chems is B&B suggesting you use.?

Recommendation for the manufacturer is to fill through the filter compartment. When I aske my dealer he shrugged and said 'toss the hose in' as long as you fill it. As soon as it was full I turned it on and it worked beautifully.

I remeber not that long ago though there was a post that described a situation where a jet was not working maybe due to an blockage of sometype which may have been caused by not filling from the filter area.

So........you decide! But hey as long as it is filled and working, right!  ;) :D

Try using 2 hoses, 1 for the filter compartment and one in the tub.  Worked for me last time....

Fill through the filter compartment.  Even better, put the hose right into the suction pipe on the pleated filter side.  Do not fill with the hose on full to avoid an air lock.

Do: Set a timer.

Don't: Let the spa overfill cause something got your attention and ... Not that I've ever done that!

That works for me, 30 minutes to fill that way. It wasn't intentional, but I put my spa halfway between my two outdoor faucets.

We did that here.  We used to have a bank in the same building...the bank managers office was just on the other side of the wall.  When we overfilled it flooded his office and ruined a ton of paperwork he had on the floor.  The just moved their office a month ago.  And we flooded it two years ago.  He would still not talk to us.lol

I wouldn't recommend doing this.  Some Manufacturers will do a diagnostic fill in the manuf. process.  Not all the time is this water drained out completely.  The water will sit in the dark/damp pipes and breed all sorts of fun stuff.  Can we say Psuedomonia's.  I wouldn't risk it.  Wait till the chlorine does its job.

I think there are a couple of OTHER reasons why you wouldn't want to do this... :o
