1st water change
« on: August 21, 2004, 05:54:24 pm »
"Get 'er done" was the motto for today's water change.  "Get lucky" crept in there for appearance as well.

Started off by shutting off power, removing filters and siphoning all extra flotsam from filter compartment.  Added Swirl Away and ran jets for 1 hour.  Pleased at how clean the water appeared afterwards.  While tub was draining, rinsed filters and worked on the little bit of scum line that was evident after the water level dropped.  Used the LeisureTime Tub Rub and nothing else--didn't need anything else--it worked great with very little effort.  Removed the leftover water with the new Shop Vac--piece of cake.  Wiped down the tub with a wash cloth and refilled.  Turned power back on, ran pumps and tested the water--now here's the REAL lucky part:
CH--170
TA--160
pH--7.5
;DI was VERY happily shocked as you can imagine.  Doubled checked all readings and then pinched myself.  Threw in a tbs. of dichlor and the temp is back up--and, boy, does it look great.  See for yourself:

Getting ready for the plunge.  Ciao!

The water looks kind of blue.  Did you throw in some New Blue Cheer?

Just kiding. Looks great.

Soak and prosper

Thanks, Gang.
ZZ...isn't that color sweet?  It really stands out against the pearl shell.
UTS...You've got that right!  Seems like about every Fri., Sat. and Sun. around sunset the martinis and gimlets start flowing...in appropriate plastic stems, of course!  Come on over!
tony...Wow, I really learned that lesson this weekend!  Unless the cost of one's water is out the roof, seems like the changes should be coveted with great anticipation.  It certainly has changed my view.....
ttodd...don't blame ya...hope it's sooner than later for ya

Nice!!

I always say, "Water is the cheapest chemical you can add to your tub!"

I should add: it's usually the most effective one too.

Soak long and prosper.

I don't know about that Windsurf....your neighbors look mighty close on one side, or are they invited too? ;)

Lori,
Thanks!  New water is great, isn't it!

NHbeacon,
The neighbors are ALWAYS invited though they don't capitalize.  Yeah, they are close....that only means I have to wear a suit to get in and get out....bubbles take care of the rest! ;D
