Gazebo/pergola lights above spa
« on: August 29, 2017, 10:38:03 pm »
How are 110V lights above the tub in a gazebo/pergola wired in for safe power?  We're putting a pergola in and the wife wanted stranded lights with about a dozen bulbs hung.  Obviously the spa is connect to220v gfci, but 110v is wired further away.  Obviously there's a safety concern but I've seen plenty of photos with lights above the tub. Any tips on this?

By code in most areas you can’t have them, is my understanding. At minimum they defiantly have to be powered off a GFCI 120v outlet. I would suggest low voltage lighting or better yet battery powered LED lighting.
