We have chosen a outdoor spot we think would be good with a view to the bush behind our house. My husband has dug out a area beside our bedroom deck from ground level down 40cm or so and plans on filling with gravel and compacting to make a level base. Firstly....Is gravel enough to keep it level? Secondly... My dilemma is what do we put over the gravel to make it aesthetically pleasing? Pavers? Stepping stones? River stones? I'd like lush plants surrounding the tub. Dig in holes to plant or do we do pots of palms? It's clay soil and gets very wet in winter. Would love some advice before rushing in and making wrong decisions. Thanks!
