Maquis vs caldera

Price on The show maquis is 13,500, The Epic same price but includes upgrade microsilk, the cantabria by caldera is 16,500.00 ,  I love the cantabria but it cost so much.  Do you think all these prices are high and Im paying cash..  Thank you.

The Marquis prices are good, not sure on the Caldera.  Hottubguy can give you more insight, as he sells both brands. 

Marquis made in Oregon, USA vs Caldera made in Mexico if that makes a difference to you.

Therapy on the Marquis will be a notch above the Caldera in my opinion.

What did you end up getting the cantabria for?  Great tub. I sell both Marquis and Caldera and own a Marquis. Each one does something better then the other. It comes down to feel. What was included at that $16,500 price you got. The Marquis prices were inline with what I sell them for. The cantabria should've had some room for negotiation

He came down to 15,500 including tax, that full total.  Im going to tell them yes on thursday.  I do have a question most of the time it will be used for two people but I wanted it big enough for company and to do exercises in , but the filling of the cantabria is almost double gallons vs the marquis show, should that be a concern , I still have time to change my mind... thanks  I like the neck pillow on the cantabria too..

Not really a concern. The one thing I wish they would do on that tub is use a bigger heater. In the northeast where I am a 4kw struggles to keep temp up in colder weather. Also I would look into booking it up 70 amps versus the 50. That way if you are running all 3 pumps the heater won't kick off. Obviously with more water it will cost a bit more in chemicals and electricity to heat it. The lounge in that tub is one of my favorite seats in any tub. Good warranty and a good manufacturer to deal with. Good luck with your purchase. Sounds like pre tax you were in the mid 14's which is roughly what I sell that tub for

The Cantabria can be wired both 50 or 70a supply. The 50a if it is less than 100’ from your houses main panel can be done with #8 wire the 70a under 100’ requires #6 wire. That is from your houses panel to the GFCI breaker provided by Caldera. Depending on what method you go with they will give you a different GFCI breaker for near your spa, the 50a setup has a 20 & 30a inside the 70a setup has 20, 20 &30a inside. Running from the GFCI to the tub the 50a setup has (4) #10 wires and (2) #12 wires. The 70a setup has (1) #6,  (3) #10, (4) #12 wires.

You need to know what your house panel will support first and then tell them and your electrician what way you are going. They will then provide you the correct GFCI.

If your home service is large enough for sure opt for the 70a.

Print out and give him the wire info from the web site or it should be in the owners manual that will be inside your tubs equipment compartment.

The breaker box it comes with is a 50 amp. 2 separate breakers one being 20 amp the other being 30 amp. It's fairly easy for a electrician to add a second 20'amp breaker in the same box

If it is like mine I don’t think it has room for 3 but I could be wrong. I remember thinking I could add a 120 GFCI breaker but that was it.

I would think as Watkins shows both methods of hook up and insists you use the breaker panel they provide they would have both to chose from already set up. I had my panel the day I ordered the tub so the dealer had a bunch in the back room.

Best way to find out is to ask your dealer.

according to the above diagram all 3 breakers should fit in the provided subpanel box
