How much should I offer for a Sundance Cameo 2002?

Just found a tub supposedly in perfect condition. Sundance Cameo 2002 for 2k? Going to look at it, but supposing it is in great condition, is it a good tub, and what should I offer if so? Also considering a Viking Destiny River 2012 for 1,800

For 15 years old the Sundance is over priced. This tub in perfect shape is only worth about half that at a grand. For 5 years old the Viking is also over priced but closer than the Sundance.

Viking is a value brand tub. Less life expectancy is expected from value tubs. The Viking has a few years left in it. But 15 years and the Sundance is also at the end of it's life expectancy.

They are both worth a grand maybe.

Are either full and running?

 I picked up a 10 year old Jacuzzi for 500 a couple of years ago.  2000 for a 2002 spa is about 1500 too much.

Thanks for the input guys. Pricing on used tubs is frustrating! I just have no idea. I want something reliable, don't need bells and whistles and don't wanna pay more than 2ish K

 The Sundance is a very reliable spa and easy to get parts for though they can be spendy.   2 grand is just too much.

Don't take us the wrong way. Neither of us said they weren't good tubs, just at the end of their life expectancy. You could get 5-10 more years out of either one. But if your expectations are a couple years your safer. Less than a grand is better but if you get either for a grand that's only 500 a year to use them if your expectation is only 2 years. Any thing else is your roll of the dice not ours,

Yea, I didn't hear that at all.  Thats why I was asking.  I know its a good brand, and I don't want to get ripped.  When you say "life expectancy," are you saying before pump/leak/electronic issues, or shell issues?

Brittle plumbing and jets is the death of all tubs eventually. Frames and bases can get soft. Pumps, leaks, and electronic issues can be fixed by replacing parts.

So, I want to stay under 3k, which I realize doesn't buy me much.  I keep going back and forth between buying used and a low end new or roto.  I can get a Four Winds 3 person w lounge for 2450, and am now looking 2 $500 tubs used.  One is a Viking Destiny River 8-10 yrs old, needs a pipe and a plywood floor due to leak from said pipe, the other is a Cal Spa 10yrs old excellent condition $500.  Am I better off buying a low end new tub these older used tubs?

That's a really good question. Sometimes a cheap new tub or even a well used tub super cheap can be a good way to determine if you want to even soak consistently, and for how many years? Test the water to coin a phrase....LOL

How well do you think you can handle moving and doing repairs to a tub or more than one?

I am planning to hire someone to move it ($300) but would like to learn to work on it myself if possible.  Ive got a friend who will help me wire it if I go 240.
