It costs a lot of money to display hot tubs and train sales staff to be knowledgeable on them.  I completely understand the frustration.  Why would a company want to give those resources away for free so that a customer can educate themselves and see the product but buy it from another place at a discount?

I appreciate everyone's replies so far. We're right in the middle of joining and purchasing. I will follow-up soon. Thanks!

So you are going to spend $4000-$5000 on a membership to save $1600-$1700 on a hot tub?  What am I missing here?  Doesn't make much sense to me

DirectBuy membership is $39.95/mo. & $199 initiation fee. You can cancel within the first 90 days or not renew at the end of the year, when membership transfers to month-to-month.

Right now they are offering holiday special, $100 off the initiation fee and $100 off your first purchase, so the initiation fee is wiped out, making it only $39.95/ mo.

$39.95 X 3month = $199.95 -or- $39.95 X 12month = $479.40 to save $2000+ makes perfect sense to me.

I thought it was more expensive then that. When you look up direct but reviews online people were saying they were spending $3000-$5000 for memberships. $1600 savings is substantial.

I still would be surprised if it gets accepted.

Watkins controls the pipeline.  Like I said in my first post, what you are doing Devil-dawg is strictly against Direct Buy Rules, as written in their membership guidelines:

Accordingly, you agree that you will never use DirectBuy’s confidential prices or Inspired catalog to negotiate with stores, that you will never shop a store knowing you will make your purchase through DirectBuy, and that you will refrain from using retail personnel, or their services, unless you intend to buy from them.

This goes for family members as well, since you can share DirectBuy accounts, or that your uncle shared his information with you.

If your name and/or delivery address gets cross referenced, don't be surprised if you don't get your hot tub  :P

Wow. Nice score. Were their any limitations like you had to take specific colors or was it like buying from a dealer?

I was limited to the Limelight series, but there was 4 or 5 to choose from. All colors and options were available just as if I had ordered it from a local store.
