Well from the posts Ive seen on various spa lists, no one seeks to be very happy with the Costco tubs, nor the ones from Lowes, Home Depot. Stick with the Bullfrog, at least its well known and you can get service done easier.

When I was shopping I saw an Island Spa in a Marquis showroom , a bahama I think. It looked out of place and it wasn't filled with water so I didn't pay it no mind.

Two weeks later I am at our neighbors and they have a new spa - it was the Island Spa I saw. I don't know about Island spas but I must admit I was impressed when I got in theirs. The experience was comparible to most of the big name tubs I've wet tested but they paid several thousand less. Nice Tub.

I'm not sure where you got the info on Costco’s warranty but this is right off of their website.

Quote
Warranty:
Five-years on shell structure; one-year on shell surface; one-year on electronics, plumbing, parts and labor

So is this.

Quote
The spa will be delivered to your residence, unloaded and placed on your curbside, driveway or in your garage (depending upon accessibility) no further than 25' from your residential street.

I'm not a fan of any of the brands you mentioned but least of all the Costco spas. These are the same spas that Home Depot dropped for problems, they could not keep up with the damage and returns nationwide so they quit selling that brand.

Now to put that warranty into perspective even if it is lifetime. in the late 80's I had a Nissan Pickup with a 7 year 70,000 mile warranty. It was in the shop for a week to 2 weeks every month until I got rid of it and bought a Chevy truck with a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. That truck now has 285,000 miles on it and I have been without it less than 4 weeks total for the last 20 years due to problems. The length of the warranty is by far not as important as what is covered and how. I have spent less than $500 in the last 20 years for actual repair parts on any spa I've owned (that's total for all spas and all parts combined) but would have easily spent thousands on labor had I not been able to perform the work myself.

Do yourself a favor, find a dealer you feel comfortable with and buy from them. A good dealer can make the purchase of even a mediocre spa a positive thing.

Good luck, let us know in about a year after owning any one of those brands how you like it.  (BTW, that’s an invitation not a jab)

Warranty for Costco tubs-beware!!!
Warranty Limited
This Limited Warranty is extended to the original purchaser of an Imperial brand spa, manufactured after January 1,
2003 and installed for residential use in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.
WARRANTIES FOR OTHER COMPONENTS
The spa cover, light bulb, light lenses, fuses, headrests, cabinet fi nish
and fi lter are warranted to be free of defects in workmanship and
materials at the time of delivery.
PERFORMANCE
To obtain service in the event of a defect covered by this Limited
Warranty, notify Jacuzzi Spa Division (the “Manufacturer”) as soon as
possible and use all reasonable means to protect the spa from further
damage. Upon proof of purchase, a designated service representative
will correct the defect subject to the terms and conditions contained in this
Limited Warranty. There will be no charge for parts or labor to repair the
defect, although providing access to effect the repair is the responsibility
of the spa owner. The spa owner may be assessed reasonable costs of
travel. If the Manufacturer determines that repair of the covered defect
is not feasible, it reserves the right to provide a replacement spa instead,
equal in value to the purchase price of the original spa. In such an event,
costs for removal of the original spa, shipping costs from the factory for
the replacement spa and delivery and installation of the replacement will
be the responsibility of the spa owner. The replacement spa will carry
the balance of the original spaʼs warranty, if any.
WARRANTY LIMITATIONS
This Limited Warranty is void if: the Manufacturer or its designated
representative determines that the spa has been subjected to alteration,
neglect, misuse or abuse, or freight damage caused by the common
carrier; any repairs have been attempted by anyone other than a
designated representative; or if the failure is caused by accident,
acts of God or other causes beyond the control of the Manufacturer.
Neglect, misuse and abuse include any installation, operation or
maintenance of the spa other than in accordance with the instructions
contained in the ownerʼs manual provided with the spa, including
but not limited to the failure to maintain proper water chemistry and
chemical balance and the use of abrasive or improper cleaners. This
Limited Warranty does not provide coverage for any item attached to
or installed on the spa after the date of manufacture, or for gaining
access to any component for repair or replacement. Spa units used in
a commercial application are excluded from any coverage whatsoever.
The spa owner accepts liability for repair work performed by anyone
other than the Manufacturer or its designated service representative.
LIMITATIONS
This Limited Warranty takes the place of all other warranties,
express or implied, in fact or at law, including implied warranties of
merchantability and fi tness for a particular purpose. All warranty
service must be performed by the Manufacturer or its designated
representative. No agent, dealer, distributor, service company or
other party is authorized to change, modify or extend the terms of
this limited warranty in any manner whatsoever. The Manufacturer will
not be responsible for any statements or representations made in any
form that go beyond, are broader than, or are inconsistent with any
authorized literature or specifi cations furnished by Jacuzzi Spa Division.
DISCLAIMERS
The Manufacturer and its representatives shall not be liable for any
injury, loss, cost or other damage, whether incidental or consequential,
arising out of any defect covered by this limited warranty, including
without limitation, loss of use of the spa and cost for removal of
defective product even if the Manufacturer was advised of the possibility
of damage. The liability of the Manufacturer under this limited warranty,
if any, shall not exceed the original amount paid for the defective
product. Coverage under this limited warranty shall commence as of
the original date of purchase and the duration of such coverage shall
not extend for any reason whatsoever beyond the stated time periods.
These disclaimers shall be equally applicable to any service provided
by the Manufacturer and its designated representatives.
LEGAL RIGHTS
This Limited Warranty gives you specifi c legal rights. You may also
have other rights that vary from state to state. Some states do not allow
limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so this limitation may
not apply to you.
5 Year Shell Structure
Imperial spas are warranted against water loss due to defects in the spa shell for fi ve years from the original date of purchase.
1 Year Shell Surface
Imperial spas are warranted against blisters, cracks, or delamination of the interior surface of the spa shell due to defects in
workmanship or materials for one year from the original date of purchase.
1 Year Components
Imperial spasʼ controls, mechanical equipment, ozone generator, cabinet and plumbing are warranted against malfunctions due to
defects in workmanship or materials for one year from the original date of purchase except if noted below.

Please, in spite of those you requested feedback from, purchase the Costco tub with the information you were presented and relying upon to be accurate. It is your money and up to you to make the decision you feel best. How did it feel upon wet testing?

Just a customer here, read my previous posts, but I think you are way over the top.

Buy what you want to buy.  I don't think you will listen to anyone, no matter what they have to say.

Yes, some dealers are bad, but the ones who frequent this board gain NOTHING for answering your questions.  Unless you happen to live in their town and near their dealership.  I got information from a dealer (who is no longer a dealer) in Canada.  I live in Oklahoma!  Too far for me to drive and get a spa!!  Too far for him to deliver a spa!  He gained nothing by giving me his opinions on tubs that I was looking at!

Maybe you should buy the Costco, or Bullfrog, soak a little and ease up.

Just my opinion.  I wouldn't have bought a tub from Costco (which has no warehouse or store in my state) or Sam's.  Personally, I am not mechanically inclined, I liked the idea of having a dealer take care of me!  But I know there are people who have bought these tubs and love them.  They have to work on them if something goes wrong, but that is fine with them, so therefore, fine with me!

You need some hot, bubbly water!!!

Good luck!

You seem to have your mind made up, so go get that Costco tub.
They're going to refund your full purchase price 20 years from now if you want them to, so what do you have to loose?

I'm biting my tongue here. Seeing as us salespeople, dealer reps, and owners in some cases are not concidered consumers just like everyone else. Were all just crooks.

Agree with Brewman. You ask for advice, then dictate the advice you want to hear. Oh well.

You need to look at the spa manual. When I looked at the Imperial at Costco, the manual was left lying on the tub. The manual told the employees how to sale the tub, and what pitches to use to demonstrate it's advantages. The manual stated all warranty was between the purchaser and Imperial. It specifically stated not to contact Costco. The sign behind the service desk in my local Costco says 30 Days to gladly refund your money on purchases. Buy it and try it. I personally feel it's worth a thousand bucks not to have to worry about getting it in location, and not have to move it myself for 5 years. I'll let my Caldera dealer worry about it.

Good Luck.
