any ideas on sealing off inspa speakers? artesian
« on: April 12, 2017, 02:04:12 pm »
My hot tub has 4 inspa speakers i have no plans of using. I am buying 4 new covers and planning on removing all 4 speakers. They are all broken due to water getting into them so i dont see a point in getting new ones every year.

Would something like this be a good idea to seal it off from the back side of the speaker so no water gets into my spa cavity?http://www.hottubessentials.ca/fix-a-leak.html

I guess I am not following you? The speaker covers will allow water through. This is different. You will have to get some plastic under the speaker cover. Then use silicon for the screws.

Or am I not following?

You could just replace the speakers with some new waterproof speakers too:

I would think Parts-Express or some ebay seller would have blank-off covers too

The speaker cover will allow water in so my goal is to seal it off from the back so it is waterproof

Silicon is a good idea. What type of plastic do you recommend? I thought some sealant spray might work behind the cover

I'd get a little piece of plastic like this https://www.interstateplastics.com/Acrylic-Clear-Film-Masked-Sheet-ACRCLEFSH.php and silicon it down over the hole under the speaker cover.
