hot springs spa filter gate fell off.
« on: October 11, 2016, 04:30:16 pm »
Hello, looking for a tip on how to reattached the filter gate door that floats with water line and allows water into the  filter area.

Brand Hot Springs
model sovereign.
10yrs old.

It looks like it was glued on before and I am wondering what is the best glue or epoxy to use to re-attach it.

Also some of the plastic siding which are more like plastic shingles have fallien off the side of the spa. Any tips to glue or reattached these to the foam underneath them?

Thanks for any tips in advance!

Spa must be dry - the factory uses a hugely expensive epoxy. They call it Devcon, but I don't know which type of Devcon product it is. I have paid the price, cleaned the surfaces (sometimes I give the surfaces a scuff with fine sandpaper or a 3M scrub pad) and the thing stays in place forever.

If you want, you can try to purchase Devcon Epoxy locally and see how it goes.

If you want me to call the factory and try to track down the product type or number, let me know.

Thank you Chas. I ordered the Devcon epoxy online and will give it a shot.
